See how mobile laboratories are transforming science education and student outcomes across rural Zimbabwe.
Mashonaland East Region

Chikwaka Secondary School, serving 450 students in a remote rural area, had no functional science laboratory. Teachers relied entirely on theoretical instruction, and students had never conducted a practical experiment. Science pass rates were at 28%, among the lowest in the district.
In March 2024, Jua Jami installed a solar-powered mobile laboratory. Our team provided comprehensive teacher training and curriculum integration support. The laboratory serves 120 students per term across Forms 1-4.

"Before the mobile laboratory, I was just reading from textbooks. Now I can show students exactly how chemistry works. Their understanding has transformed completely. They're excited to come to science class!"
"This mobile laboratory is a game-changer for our school. Our science pass rates have nearly tripled. Parents are noticing the improvement, and students are talking about pursuing science at university."
"Science is now my favorite subject! Doing the experiments myself makes everything make sense. I want to study chemistry at university because of what I've learned here."
We're documenting detailed case studies from schools across Manicaland, Masvingo, and Mashonaland. Each story showcases unique challenges overcome and lasting impact achieved.
